Bring the Feast to Your Community!

Creating a Spiritual Practice Community during the Feast and Beyond

This coming Feast’s emphasis is on creating community, deepening our connections, and being totally committed to our daily practice, and we’re hoping you will want to get more involved!

We all know the importance of community and the 40-day observance of the Feast for the Soul is a perfect opportunity to create more of it!

A spiritual community is different from a traditional community. That’s because when we gather together with like-hearted people and share wisdom, inspire each other, and meditate together, everyone’s spiritual practice is deepened and enriched.

A spiritual community is one of spiritual partnership: a partnership between equals for the purpose of spiritual growth. In the Feast communities, partnerships include being supportive and encouraging, practicing together, being good listeners, and serving as accountability partners for each other and our practice.

This year, the onus is on you to deepen your practice using the resources the Feast offers, and the onus is on you to reach out, create a community, or join a community. This will bring the Feast alive!

Become a Feast for the Soul Community Host!

If you are feeling the call to create a group or community gathering, please view the informational webinar with Sue Cooper, Sarah McLean and friends.

Hosts are organizers who schedule and then offer opportunities to gather with friends, family, and/or people in their community. Whether you meet online or in person over the 40 days of the Feast, the community ideally will practice meditation together, and share inspiration. Ideally, each gathering is offered free of charge and inclusive so all who want to can have the opportunity to sit together in silence and share wisdom from a variety of traditions.

Whether you are already involved in a spiritual practice community, or already host one, or you hear the call to get one started, it will deepen your practice as you take inspired action. Please say yes!

Here’s what to do first:

Next, plan some online or in-person gatherings:

  • Choose to host a private “closed” group, or, an “open” group to include other Feast-goers from around the world.
  • Host an Opening Ceremony to kick off the Feast on January 15th. Find the suggested guidelines for the ceremony here.
  • Offer a daily or weekly meditation gathering to support people in their commitment to the Feast online or in person. Check out the schedule of events open to all here. Perhaps you choose a day to meet when there are no programs offered, and access any of the meditations in the library or offer your own guidance.
  • List any of your events on the Feast Facebook Group to share with the Feast community. Visit this link.

Let Your Community Know About Your Gatherings

  • Post your meetings on the Feast for the Soul Community Group here.

Whether you observe the Feast on your own, join a community, and/or become a Community Host, we look forward to being on this journey with you.
