Karen Tietjen Allen has studied mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and Ayurveda for over 20 years. During the Pandemic, her practices were re-energized and she decided to become certified to teach mindfulness and meditation, and Ayurvedic health, wellness, and lifestyle to pass on the benefits that she was receiving from her practices: better health, less worry and reactivity and instead more responsiveness, better relationships, and an unwinding and letting go.
She received MMI Mindfulness & Meditation Teacher Certification, Certification as an MMI Mindful Trainer® to teach Mindfulness in the Workplace, and received Chopra Meditation and Ayurvedic Health Teacher Certifications, and Mission Be Educator Certification. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine.
Prior to that, she worked as an attorney specializing in immigration law, and she continues to work on pro bono immigration law matters.
She also enjoys volunteering in the community with a focus on helping the underhoused, the elderly, and families with children facing critical illness.
She teaches individuals and groups, in person and online, adults and children, including children who are in palliative care. Raised in Chile and Mexico, she teaches in English and in Spanish.
Her intention is to offer mindfulness, meditation, and Ayurvedic health training so that others may experience the benefits of stress-reduction and increased well-being and live productive, positive, and peaceful lives.
