Global Peace Initiative, Feast for the Soul Offers 40 Days of Free, Live Guided Meditation from January 15 to February 23

Free Daily Guided Meditations for All Offered by over 30 World-Renowned Spiritual Teachers to Support Mental Wellbeing and Spiritual Renewal in the New Year

SANTA BARBARA, CA— On January 15, the annual Feast for the Soul – a nondenominational spiritual practice immersion begins. Now in its 17th year, the Feast for the Soul offers 40 days of guided spiritual practices opens its program to all.  Each day from January 15 through February 23, attendees can tune in to a free guided meditation via livestream on Facebook and via Zoom at 11 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. GMT / 6 a.m. (next day) Sydney Time.

“Those new to the practice of meditation, as well as deeply experienced meditators worldwide, take this time each year to commit or recommit to deepening their personal spiritual practice in hopes of cultivating an inner landscape of lasting peace,” shares Feast Co-Director Sarah McLean of the McLean Meditation Institute. “The idea is that when inner peace is experienced by enough people, it creates a ripple effect of peace that can be felt around the world.”

The Feast for the Soul is a worldwide 40-day period of spiritual practice and is observed annually from January 15- February 23.  Last year over 20,000 people in at least 29 different countries participated in this worldwide event.

Each day of the Feast, guided practice will be led by world-renowned meditators including Suzi Von Mensenkampff of Wake Up Little Suzi, Sarah McLean of the McLean Meditation Institute, Sue Cooper of MOMM World, Anam Thubten of the Dharmata Foundation, and more.

The Dalai Lama has endorsed the Feast for years now, and Deepak Chopra says about the event is powerful, saying “Meditating 40 minutes a day for 40 days, as done in the Winter Feast for the Soul won’t just further one’s conscious evolution. Humanity will be at peace when enough individuals choose to make peace a part of their spiritual practice.”

The initial inspiration for the Feast for the Soul came from a poem by the renowned 13th Century mystic, Jelaluddin Rumi, better known as Rumi.

What nine months does for the embryo,

Forty early mornings

Will do for your growing awareness.

When you consider the personal stories of important religious figures including Noah, Elijah, Moses, Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammed, you’ll recognize that each one spent 40 days in retreat or contemplation. When these prophets returned from their inner journey, they had transformed, and, in turn, their world had changed.

The Feast features a faculty of teachers from many religious traditions who offer meditations to assist people in developing their own spiritual practice whether engaging in prayer, meditation, reading sacred texts, yoga, martial arts, expressive arts, and more.

“Given the challenges and struggles we see taking place in the world today, this event supports people to commit to the life-changing practice of peace through stillness and meditation,” shares the Feast Co-Director Sue Cooper.
